Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition Help

New and Changed in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition Update 2

The following topics summarize the new features and enhancements in the Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition Update 1 release.

Feature Description
Assign Raceway IDs Raceway IDs can now be defined during raceway placement in the RW Router dialog. An additional tab ID Settings to define Raceway ID macros, start value and increments.
Saving Macros Once macro is defined, it can be saved to the CFG_RacewayMacros.xml file for future use.
Define Equipment ID with macros Equipment IDs can now contain more details about equipment through assignment of Equipment ID macros.
Cable Product Codes Product codes can now be associated with cables and used in cable schedules and reports.

Use Cable Product Codes for Reports

Automatically add UDA attributes to schema When you add UDA attributes in the Options dialog, the UDAs are automatically added to the schema making them available for reports and i-models.
Define equipment name when importing equipment Bentley Raceway and Cable Management has the functionality to import Equipment from an Excel spreadsheet by utilizing X,Y,Z coordinates and equipment IDs. Bentley Raceway and Cable Management will now have the ability to specify an equipment name for all imported equipment instead of using generic junction boxes.

Convert b-spline to raceway To ensure that arch, circle and b-splines of all sizes can be converted into optimal raceway segments, users can now set base number of segments to be used in the conversion process.

In previous versions, the conversion process was trying to minimize the number of sections needed to convert arch into the raceway. With this enhancement, the user will be able to define the maximum number of sections needed to convert the arch into the raceway which results in a smoother curve.

2D Extraction - Overlapped Raceway Parts An enhancement has been made to use a dashed line style for any overlapping raceway parts. In the previous releases, the entire length of the overlapped raceway section would be depicted with dashed line style as shown:
Now just the overlapping section is depicted with the dashed line:
Generating Report using Location UDA as a Filter If the raceway catalog contains the location information, the location can now be used to organize a report according to location.

New Section Templates for Imperial Datasheet The following section templates have been added to the imperial dataset:
  • CSECTION_CableInfoCum.xml
  • CSECTION_CableInfoDetailed.xml
  • CSECTION_RWLabel.xml
  • CSECTION_RWPlusGraphics.xml
Note: These templates were already available in the metric dataset.

COMOS Cable List Template for Metric Dataset Bentley Raceway and Cable Management users will now find a new project, COMOS_Sample, accessed from the Workpage which displays when you first start the application.

Once the project is selected, users can select COMOS templates for importing the cable list.

Cable list exported from the COMOS will be imported into BRCM and used for cable management. Once the cable management process is completed, the same format of cable list with final cable lengths can be exported from Bentley Raceway and Cable Management and imported back to the COMOS.
